Proverbs 14:34

“Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”

This week “We the people” had an incredible opportunity to exercise one of our most fundamental rights as Americans. We had the opportunity to vote.

In this country, those in positions of leadership are selected and elected by the people. From the office of the  President, all the way down to local elected officials, we enjoy the privilege and right to vote and elect our own leaders.

When it is all said and done, the winner wins and those who didn’t win…don’t really  lose either! This is because we live in a free society where we are ruled by a Constitution and laws. They are free to regroup and try again next time!

The people we elect ought to reflect the values we hold dear. We trust them to protect and promote those values by the way they develop legislation, policies, and their personal practices.  It can be easy for all that power to go to their head and change them from the inside out. I have seen this happen before, and we do not want to see it happen again.

As in every election there are disappointments and there are victories. What we must not do is allow our disappointments to keep us from supporting and praying for those who have been duly elected. Prayer will keep our elected officials strong, and you and I must keep them accountable. Don’t just let the election cycle be the only time you get involved in the process. Contact them, pray for them, and do what you can to make sure they know you care about this community.

For those who didn’t see “your” candidate elected, remember, this is a free country and you can try again. Build support now for those you hope to elect next time, while doing all you can to make this term the best it can be for us all.

This chapter of our political experience has changed and will continue to change up until and after the General Election in November. It’s ok, and it’s going to be ok. You and I have to be the ones who will set the example and come together as a community for the good of the community and face our challenges and changes together!

Whoever is in office will make a difference, but if we the people are united and supportive, then we can hold them accountable and make a lot of progress on the issues that matter the most! I am praying for those who will be facing off in November. God knows that we need integrity and honesty to be reignited in our elected positions. We need men and women of courage, who will face the challenges of their position and honor the Lord Jesus as they serve the people of this great county.

It is important that elected officials do not misuse or abuse our trust. They must remember, they represent and work for us!

Let us continue to pray and vote that the values which made our country great will make our county great and move us forward for the Glory of God!

God Bless!

Jesus loves you and He did something about it!

Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again from the dead to offer to me and you the opportunity to become children of God and be forgiven of all our sins.

Will you put your faith in Jesus alone to be your Saviour and Lord?

Let me know if you have trusted Christ as your personal Lord and Saviour.
